Canwide Steel is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, mask, and use personal information within the Canwide Steel Safety Portal.
1. Information We Collect
We collect and manage only the essential information required to verify identity, complete mandatory safety documentation, and maintain regulatory compliance. This includes:
- Personal Identity: Full Name, Employee ID number.
- Contact Details: Mobile Number, Email Address, and Home Address.
- Demographics & Experience: Age category (under 25 selection) and Years of Experience.
- Emergency Contact: Contact Name, Phone Number, and Relationship to you.
- Digital Signature: Hand-drawn digital signatures captured via our secure signature input.
2. Data Security & PII Masking
To prevent unauthorized access and exposure of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on site tablets and shared devices:
- PII Masking: Sensitive fields such as Phone Numbers, Home Addresses, Email Addresses, and Emergency Details are masked (e.g.,
Jo********) on display screen. - Read-Only Fields: Once fields are completed and stored, they are locked from editing to maintain accurate historical logs and prevent tampering.
- Secure Transmission: All data is sent securely using industry-standard transport security (HTTPS).
3. Use of Digital Signatures
Your digital signature is uniquely linked to your employee profile and is used solely for safety authorization compliance. By storing your signature, you authorize the Canwide Steel Safety Portal to automatically overlay it onto safety documents you submit, such as:
- Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA)
- Hot Work Permits
- New Worker Orientations
- Equipment Inspection Sheets
To ensure validity, signatures can only be updated once every 15 days, and all changes are logged with timestamps.
